SHPE chapters from UMBC, JHU, and UMD will be collaborating for this event. Northrop Grumman started their "Adelante" program, apart of their Hispanic Employee Research Group to promote diversity and inclusivity in their workplace.
Hispanics make up about 7.6% of UMBC. SHPE is an inclusive student organization where its members make up many races and have a variety of different backgrounds. We promote the development of Hispanics in engineering, science, and other technical professions to achieve educational excellence, economic opportunity, and social equity. SHPE develops and participates in programs with each affiliate university and the industry that benefit the minority group when seeking a STEM-related degree.
